What means “new heavens” and “new earth” in the book of Revelation? Are we to abandon our planet?

Like the Phoenix bird in its last hour a new bird is born from the ashes and such is the faith of our times. After the destruction of the old world a new will be born with new Heaven and new Earth. This new world is designed to be better, wiser and much fairer.

What source of information have the Mayan priests used to predict the time and nature of the disastrous events?

According to the mayan calendar extraterrestrial civilization provided the information about 2012 disastrous events. The extraterrestrials have come from Heaven and contacted the Mayan High Priests. They passed the warnings about the volcanoes activities and gave assurance, that they are watching the planet Earth and will be back when the end of times comes. They advised humans to seek refuge in the high mountains and not underground.
